Cite or Site
"Cite" and "site" are two words that are commonly confused but have very different meanings. "Cite" is a verb that means to quote or refer to a source of information, typically in academic work such as a research paper or essay. It is used to acknowledge the sources of information used in a work. For example, "The author cites several studies in her book."
On the other hand, "site" is a noun that refers to a location or a specific place. It can refer to a physical location, such as a construction site, or a digital location, such as a website. For example, "The new shopping center will be built on the site of the old factory." So really, "cite" is used to refer to a source of information and "site" refers to a location. They are not interchangeable words and are used in different contexts.
